Overview
We are seeking a full-time or part-time Pediatrician at our FQHC in Chicago. We were founded as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in 1999 have origins going back to 1887 with St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and 1894 with St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago. Duties and Responsibilities
- Practice of medicine within the scope of license, training, credentialing and in accordance with the current standards of care and quality criteria adopted by the FQHC.
- See pediatric patients in FQHC clinics. This is a broad-spectrum pediatric practice.
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Order, perform and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients’ condition.
- Complete charting on an electronic medical record and required paperwork in a timely manner. Maintain confidential patient information.
- Newborn nursery rounding of pediatric patients at Ascension Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Centers - occasionally midday throughout week and one Saturday every 4 weeks.
- Participation in teaching activities with the Saints Mary and Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency Program including precepting residents and attending faculty meetings as needed.
- Participate in the development/review of organizational policies and quality improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements
Board certification is required or if board certification eligible must be board certified within one year from start date.
Bilingual English/Spanish
Call Schedule - Rotating between Pediatrician, MDs newborn nursery rounding Monday to Friday. Traditionally either before or after clinic hours. If on the schedule for Saturday newborn nursery rounding would apply.
Providers are not required to attend deliveries or be present during a “C” section.
Patient Template Schedule
- Medical Providers are scheduled to see patients 8.5 sessions per week.
- Medical providers have administration time for 1.5 sessions per week.
- Patients are scheduled every 15 minutes.
- Providers are scheduled for one evening per week. Hours of coverage on this day are: 11:30am to 8pm.
- All providers at the site cover one Saturday every four weeks working from 9am to 2pm and are scheduled another day off during the week.
Electronic Medical Record – Athena. All patient EMR encounters must be closed within 72 business hours.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) – All medical and dental providers -- $3,000 plus 5 days per calendar year.
Paid time Off (PTO) – Totaling 39 days per calendar year
- 27 days per calendar year accrued as of the state date and can carry over earned and unused days into the following calendar year.
- 1 floater and 3 personal days per calendar year.
- 8 paid holidays – New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Other Income Details
Quality Incentive Program: All providers and staff are eligible for the quality incentive program which is paid the first quarter of the year for the previous calendar year.
Salary
All wages are based on relevant years of experience and/or licensure. The minimum rate is the wage that a new residency graduate earns.
